What to expect when wearing the Inman Aligner

Like any orthodontic appliance, the Inman Aligner can feel a little uncomfortable for the first few days and it will affect your speech during this time.  However, after just a week  your mouth will adjust and your speech will return to being normal as you start to become less aware of the appliance. After two weeks most clients are used to their aligner and have no problems wearing it.

The Inman Aligner will only work for you if you wear it every day for the treatment time. Ideally you should wear the aligner for 20 hours a day as any less will increase your treatment time. You must always remove the Inman Aligner before eating and you should clean your teeth and your aligner before you refit it back into your mouth. It is OK to take your aligner out for photos, special occasions as long as it is not longer than a few hours.

Is the Inman Aligner comparable to Invisalign?

No, the Inman Aligner is used for treating the front teeth only. Invisalign is suitable when all your teeth need straightening.

Will treatment with the Inman Aligner be uncomfortable?

No. Due to the gentle but steady pressure generated, the appliances are easily tolerated. You may need to take mild painkillers for the first few days of treatment if you encounter any discomfort.

Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?

Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week. You will however become used to the Inman Aligner over time and be able to speak fine with them in place.

Will I need to see the doctor frequently for adjustments?

The Inman Aligners are pre-programmed to reduce the need for office visits. Your doctor will prescribe a treatment due to your needs.
